Reminder about End of Five-Week Period
This is a friendly reminder that the five-week period ends next Friday, which means that you only have until 3:00 p.m. on Friday the 18th to get any late work in. The longer it takes to turn it in, the more points you could lose, so please get all work in as soon as possible.

Today we finished chapter 5 of The Outsiders. Ponyboy and Johnny have been reading Gone with the Wind and playing poker to pass the time. While looking at the sunrise one morning, Ponyboy shared the Robert Frost poem "Nothing Gold Can Stay," which is about how quickly youth and innocence can fade. Dally finally came, bringing with him a letter from Sodapop and news of the big rumble about to happen between the Socs and the Greasers. If the Greasers win, then the Socs have to leave their territory once and for all. Dally also shared that they have a spy on their side: Cherry Valance.
