We reviewed parts of speech and began brainstorming what A Life Worth Knowing really means. We'll be starting our research project and The Diary of Anne Frank (the play) when we return.

English 9 and 9H

You chose our topics today! From plague doctors to Elizabethan superstitions to the role of women, I hope you enjoyed learning a bit more about Shakespeare's world. When we come back, we'll be reading Romeo and Juliet!

We looked at Shakespearean insults today and practiced crafting them to become more familiar with how Shakespearean English works. Don't forget to turn in your Shakespearean Language assignments today!

Today we looked at the differences in performances of the same Shakespearean scenes to look at ways that the body itself can be a text. We can read tone of voice, actions, and facial expressions just as we can read a book. Then, we spent a little bit of time looking at Shakespearean insults. Don't forget to turn in your Shakespearean Language assignments today!

So, today was... strange. Between having an early dismissal and an unexpected fire alarm during period 3, we had some inconsistency with our classes. I'll be updating our weekly schedules on Schoology.

English 8

Today, we reviewed verbs and discussed helping verbs, verb phrases, and conjugating verbs. Please review verbs before our next class. The slide presentations are loaded up on Schoology for you to look through.

English 9 and 9H

Only one English 9 class was held today, so we're going to try to even out by the end of the week. We've started looking at a timeline on William Shakespeare. 9H got up to the sonnets.
